Bilstein Sports are probably the most popular and well liked. Bilstein HD's, generally recommended for non-Z51 and give a slightly softer ride, have also been used and liked.
Koni FSD are generally liked but at about double the price of Bilsteins are not that popular.
DRM (modified) Bilsteins are pretty much considered the ultimate but tend to be hard to get and a bit pricey also. If you search in the Z06 Forum for DRM Bilstein shocks you'll find lots of discussion.
If you post what you want to accomplish with new shocks maybe you'll get some specific recommendations.
Just installed the DRM Bilsteins on my 05 Z51 and they are awesome shocks! Of course I got them for a great deal in parts for sale section... Otherwise I was going with the sports...
I can tell you that the DRM makes the car feel like it should- firm, controllable, planted...tires are my weak link now- the car is so flat and planted in turns now it's amazing!
Thanks, I use my Corvette to go to work everyday in summer, I just want to have shocks that makes that she will be more stable. When I drive a little faster on small roads, the front is too soft ...
Edelbrocks suck, they worked fine but tend to be only slightly better than the base.
Myself, I prefer an adjustable shock and tailor to my liking.
I've done numerous shock upgrades on various vehicles and start with shocks like the Bilstein and generally end up with an adjustable in the end, so now I just start there.
On my beater I used Monroe's monotube performance shock. More money than the standard Reflex or Sensa-trac but worth it.

SPORT (BE5-2977-H0) Front (24-029773) or Heavy Duty (BE5-2975-H0) Front (24-029759) ?
Like I mentioned before, HD's generally go with the base suspension, Sports with the Z51. But, HD's on a Z51 makes for a little better ride, which you might like for a DD.
I installed Bilstein Sports on my base car today. Took an hour test drive and honestly couldn't tell any difference on the roads I drove. No more harsh, similar feel. Maybe in tighter, curvier roads I will observe a difference. I installed Z51 sways last month and realized a significant improvement. Bilsteins are said to be very well built and last a very long time.
I have Koni FSDs on my GS. Great shock with ideal balance of ride and performance IMO. As noted previously, they are pricey compared to the alternatives from Bilstien and others.

I was looking st the Koni but have been reading that they were stiff so I went with the Bilstein HD to give my kidneys a break. I would like however like to ride in a Z51 with the Koni shock to feel what it is like.
I think I have exactly I wanted. When I drive normally, I do not feel any difference with the stock shocks
Now if I drive faster, I feel an improvement in stability.
