Hey guys going to be moving my battery to the rear of my c6 to make room for my nitrous stand alone. What's the best battery to fit this location? Daily driver

I thought all the batteries in the C6 where already in the back..? Perhaps this is not the case... (Just did some searching and learned something new...)

On the 2011 GS the battery is located in the right side (passengers) rear corner... They may have moved it to make room for the dry sump oil tank since thats where your battery appears to be.

So if you have TWO storage boxes in the trunk... then the passengers side would be where they put it in the GS because I only have one storage box on the drivers side with the battery on the passengers side...<--- does this make since or did I just make it confusing? LOL

SPEED SAFE, NICK

If you relocate to the trunk I would get a dry cell battery (optima)

Unless you keep the original battery and buy a sealed/vented battery box since regular batteries have fumes while in operation... Plus it'll be track legal this way

Does an optima fit? Or is it too big. I want under the impression that It had to be a smaller battery

I'm not sure if it'll fit in the cubby hole, or even if the stock one will fit in there..

The battery is only in the passenger side storage box on Corvettes with Dry Sump Engines: Grand Sports with MZ6 manual transmission, all Z06, and all ZR1s. Yes the original battery location is where the Dry Sump is on these cars. It is also to help in lateral CG. Grand Sports with the A6 Transmission, the battery is still under the hood.

There is probably some modifications to the Storage bin required not to just slap a battery back there. I know that my Base 06 passenger side storage bin looks completely different than my Grand Sport 13's with Dry Sump.

That's a good bit of info. Wonder what the best battery is that fits without too much modding

The Braille 21lb batterry fits without any problem and has the capacity to power a Corvette. The smaller Braill 17lb battery would also work but may not have the power to run a daily driver without some issues.

Lithium batteries for cars are starting to take off. May be another option to check out. They are much smaller for capacity ratings too.
