In my 06C6 GS Clone, the clutch pedal will bleed down after sitting a while and release the clutch just off the floor. It will also do this while driving. I can pump the pedal and it will return to normal for a time then bleed down again.
It is not the same thing as the clutch pedal staying on the floor after a shift. I have been routinely changing the fluid (Motul RBF600) using the "Ranger Method" for years now and doing this fluid change has seemingly no affect on the problem. I am thinking a leaking seal in either the master or the slave cylinder.
There is no fluid leaking out anywhere and the fluid level in the reservoir remains constant.
The master and the slave cylinders are OEM stock but the Clutch is an RPS dual friction.
You have an RPS clutch, protect it with a Tick master. It moves 5 times more fluid than stock, (I bled mine in 5 pumps) Its just my opinion, but go with the tick master, you will be glad you did.
McLeod warns against the Tick because of over-extension of the pressure plate.
If everything is spaced and working properly, "moving five times more fluid" doesn't do anything.
I am running a Mcleod RXT clutch With a Tick master. If you talk to Mcleod your quote only pertains to people running Mcleod throw out bearings with a Tick Master cylinder.
I am using a stock GM throwout bearing.
If everything was spaced and working properly the OP wouldn't have a problem.
I agree with dev1360 that it is likely the master cylinder...worn but not gone....but soon to go. Conceivably it could be the slave, but since the master is more likely and less (much) expensive and easy to replace, do that first. If done carefully, bleeding will not even be necessary.
