I have the standard nav system with the embedded clock. Car is 4 years old with 22,000 miles.
Recently the clock has been changing the time zone I've set from Mountain Daylight to Eastern standard. I've set it back several times and it jumps on its own about once a day. Worked fine for 4 years.
I searched the forum for an answer and found one other post from some time back where a guy had the same problem and no solution was ever determined. (Post title was a Nav system problem but description included the clock problem I'm having.)

Anyone know what's doing this and how to fix it?
2009 Z06 with 23,000 miles
I bought this car a year ago and it does the exact same thing. I have searched very hard for a solution with no results. My clock is an hour off 6 months out of the year!

So far it doesn't seem like we're going to hear from someone that knows.
I don't know if this will help or not...but when my battery was dying, my DST function would not stay lit, so clock was off every start up for about a week. Most of the car convenience systems (memory seats, telescopic, etc) acted strange during this particular week leading up to the battery failure as well. After new battery it has been fine.
As a place to start, I would suggest logging battery condition for a period of time (via an external digital meter with two at least two decimal places), and clean terminals.
Double check your negative battery terminal, I recently read a thread regarding some other issues and that was suggested. In fact there was a specific torque recommended but I think if you remove both positive and negative terminals from the battery and make sure they are clean and tight when re-installing, then check the other end of the wires for clean and tight connections, you should be able to eliminate the battery as the source of the issue. It has been my experience when batteries go bad, they short internally and you will lose a cell, battery won't hold a charge for very long as the interconnecting cells discharge through the shorted cell. Any other dips or intermittent voltage drops are usually related to bad connections.

I will look into the battery. But I doubt that's it since only the clock is the issue. No problem with any other display or radio. Also it seems odd that the clock switches to Eastern Standard time although I do suspect that is the programmed default since the assembly plant is in that time zone.
Just throwing this out there to consider.
Even though you haven't had this issue until after 4 years:
Could the Driver 1 or 2 preferences been re-memorized?
I recall there is a way to sync the GPS to your actual position, maybe this got corrupted?
Yes weak battery or loose battery cables can be suspect.
Can you scan for any codes or ensure codes are clear?
Again just reaching to help...good hunting.
As hinted above, the nav system actually has two different sets of settings and times- one for Driver (fob) #1 and the other for Driver (fob) #2. Whenever you change time zones or go to/from Daylight savings time, you must reset the time twice- once for each driver/fob.
So if you are switching fobs, or the other one is close enough to be recognized by accident, that could be the problem.

Just for the record, Bowling Green is in the Central time zone. My job here is done.
I'm sure the dealer wouldn't have a clue about the problem. Most likely there is a microprocessor imbedded in the nav unit that controls its functions and it may be corrupted. I would reboot just the radio by completely disconnecting its power (via fuse maybe), wait several minutes for any capacitive discharge to dissipate, then restoring power. Should this fail to fix the problem there is most likely a firmware update for the radio that repaired the problem. Maybe the Tech 2 has a way to install firmware, IDK. The ideal solution then would be to pick up a used NAV system from a later model to replace yours. My 2012 has had zero issues, no issues even with the GPS snafu of a couple of years ago.
