Just driving along and this spring fell out from under the dash onto my left foot.
I can't figure out where it came from and nothing seems to be operating any differently.
It is about the size of a silver dollar and pretty greasy.
Any ideas what it is for and where it goes?
Replace the broken C6 clutch pedal assist spring with a C5 clutch pedal assist spring.
The difference between the two springs and pedal feed back is huge, and will will be able to feel what the pedal is actually doing, instead of the dead feeling you get with the C6 spring just over springing the pedal back up during clutch engagement stage instead.
P.S, with not spring and the oem master cylinder, the clutch pedal will hang down slightly, and your not going to be able to use the cruse control since the car thinks that you are pushing the pedal slightly down (clutch pedal switch that disengages the cruse control when you start to press the clutch pedal in).
Put in a Tick master and you don't need a spring. In fact they tell you do remove it. That is what I did.
What's a Tick Master?
nevermind...I'll google it.
Are either the spring or the Tick master hard to install myself?
My dealer wants $100 just to say hello to me every time I go in, (at least that was the last charge just to tell me what a dash error message specifically meant...).
I had that spring break before. the replacement is very inexpensive (forgive me i can remember the exact price its been about 2 years) just go to the parts department, they might even have it in stock. it was inexpensive and definitely a DIY
