Default Which QTP Cutout Kit?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a QTP wireless cutout kit, but I'm not sure on if I should get the standard "Y" pipe style, or they also offer a "low profile" option. Can anybody on here shed some light here for me?

Can't get to my photobucket right now to show you but the low profile ones fit well just ahead of the trans facing inward.

Where did you wire yours up to, if you don't mind me asking?

cut a hole in the trunk floor and ran the wire up over the hump behind the seats. Wired to the cigarette lighter in the center console and just tucked in behind the drivers seat. I have the wireless option.

LOL the cutouts were probably the cheapest HP/$ I've ever bought because of the turbos not liking backpressure.

Yes please do! I'm subscribing to this thread. I'm contemplating between the y-pipe in exiting toward the center (had this on my C5 Z06 and loved it, FYI) and the low profile with outside exit. I will ONLY do the low profile outside mount and it must be mounted right at the bend. I have concerns with the ones that exit at a 90 degree angle. I can't imagine the exhaust gases flow nearly as well at that angle.

I will say this... make sure you have someone who understands how to do the install correctly ESPECIALLY if it's they y-pipe kit into the middle. The welding is tough and there is something with how you set things up to make sure the seals don't get ruined on the butterfly valves. Good luck and please do post videos, I'll be waiting!

I did mine slightly differently:

Installed the wiring myself along the drivers side rocker panel, behind seat then out the wheel well under the carpet. Removed the rear inner fender and drilled a small hole in the wheel well then ran the wire down to the cutouts. Hardest part is finding a hot wire when the ignition is on on these C6's. I ended up tapping the seat heater fuse as others here have done.

I love my cutouts, 8 years old and still going strong. The new wireless option is great. And QTP has great support.

Here's a vid.

So far, the vendor that I ordered the cutouts from seems to be in no rush to get them to me. I ordered the cam kit from another vendor, and I got a box Wednesday with springs, balancer, pushrods, seals, keepers, seats, and NO CAM. So the cam that was supposed to be delivered Wednesday is supposed to be overnighted for today (partly at my expense). If that comes, I'll be doing the install this weekend. I was hoping to get a video on the stock cam with the cutouts open, but it doesn't look like thats going to happen. Anyway, I'll be keeping the thread updated!

If you can cancel your order, call QTP direct. Sometimes you get the owner Barry on the phone. They have great customer service. I only recommend them because I've been so happy with their product for so many years (8). Tell him Joe G sent you lol.
