Default LS2 - Stroker Build

Decided to pull the trigger on further enhancement of my LS2...

The previous build was by no means bad, here's a link to what was involved in the previous setup:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-the-tire.html

Recently I drove a built LS7 - Magstar's car and was left with a solid impression. This car is just a BEAST, but in a friendly way - if that makes any sense.
He and the car hold some production car lap records at Fontana and Willow I believe. I thought the times were all down to Magstar's skill as a professional driver/coach, but the thing is just plain smooth! Magstar is a wicked driver as well of course

The larger stroke really seems to enhance the power delivery/feel of the car. A very important aspect with a 2WD performance car on the street or track.
IMO - all the power in the world isn't worth anything if you can't make efficient use of it.

So anyway, getting into the nuts and bolts of the build:

Bore / Stroke: 4.010" x 4.000"
Compression: North of 11:1
Crank: Molnar 4.000" Stroke 4340 Forged Crank
Bearing: Clevite
Piston: CP - 406g / custom valve relief / dome / gas ports
Rod: Carillo - 646 / 6.125" / Bullet Series
Rings: Total Seal
Cam: Comp Cams / RPM Motors custom grind
Head: RPM Motors / CNC and hand ported 243's / flow tested / 62cc chamber
Lifter: LS Roller
Rocker: GM / Comp Cam
Intake Valve: 2.080"
Exhaust Valve: 1.600"
Spring: Patriot / 145/420

Torque Plate Honing to .010" oversize
Decked Block - Parallel & Perpendicular
Line Hone
Balance Assembly
Clean / Prep Heads

Misc.
GZ Vacuum Pump
Airaid CAI
Labonte Meth Injection
NW 102
FAST 102
LG Longtubes
CPR Fabrication Full Exhaust
UD Pulley
ACT Twin Disc

Not sure what I'll net from this build...but after seeing the results LEAVINU realized with his car, I figured why not!?

Engine is in! Austin reports -

"It sounds great and went together without a problem. Torque on this motor is amazing; it feels like it pulls just as well if not harder than a 427. Should be on the dyno later this week."

Excellent numbers! I'm starting a stroker build as well with very comparable parts.(90vs 102 and no meth) My tuner has a custom cam they like to use for 402s to make good power and still be streetable. I don't know the cam specs compared to yours and without meth I'm not sure I'll reach your numbers. But these are encouraging results.

Looks like some solid results, congrats! Not many 402's ever seem to break 5505/500.

Thanks man, RPM did a great job! Really impressed with the sound, power, and drive ability.

Doesn't buck whatsoever - even under load on the freeway at 1500 rpm. Just pulls in every gear, and actually a little better mpg now too.
33-35 mpg @ 60-80mph

Not many supercars out there besides the Corvette, getting 30mpg cruising on the freeway. It's a great car for road trips.

It does run slightly hotter now in terms of oil temps. But based on making 200+ more hp than the cooling system was originally designed for, it's not that bad. Considering switching to some engine oil that will handle higher temps better. The highest temp I have seen after some spirited driving on the break-in oil has been 223, so still not all that high.

The way this things pulls in every gear is priceless. If you're on the fence about doing a stroker, I highly recommend pulling the trigger. Much better street/overall power than you will ever see and feel from the 3.622" crank.

The TQ gain alone would be worth it for me. I dig TQ, HP is great if you drag race, but around town and in the city, TQ rules in my book.

Thanks again for the Dyno sheets too

Any flow numbers for the heads?
