Default G6X3 cam questions

I have a base ls3 6 speed. Right now I have a airraid intake and corsa exhaust. It's boring.

I plan on buying
-G6x3 cam
-Texas speed 1-7/8 long tubes
-3" x pipe no cats
-dyno tune

Couple questions anyone have a
similar set up and can share whp/tq
also anyone have specs on that cam? I can't find it anywhere.
Can I swap that cam with out any other head work/ valvetrain etc?

Really looking to be around 500ish whp

It should be close to 500, depends on the cam and the condition of your heads, etc.

I'd estimate somewhere between 460-490whp depending on dyno and tuner.

You will need new valve springs, retainers and pushrods for the new cam. Personally I would go ahead and install a new oil pump, timing chain, and harmonic balancer while you're in there as well. Is it necessary? No. But I did all bag for peace of mind.

It's a very popular cam but you won't get the specs without buying it and putting it on a cam profiling machine.

Call LG Motorsports to get the scoop on what you need to optimize it.

You did a dyno or mail order?
How streetable is the cam?
Can you post videos of your exhaust?
487 is nice and since I'm a 6speed "I should make more power"
I'll be going to NicD from Arizona to get tuned

I'm looking at $1700 for cam and valve train
and
probably another 800-1200 for balancer, chain, oil pump/waterpump?

That's weird this is the only cam I can't find specs for.
Even when I bought cams for my previous cars etc....
all the company's list specs.
It's sorta iffy buying a cam blind.
I know this cam makes power but it be nice to know what I'm buying.
It be like buying pistons and saying give me high or low compression
And not asking anything else

I agree. I had initially wanted for my car, but couldn't buy the cam blind.

It is a max effort, high rpm camshaft. Sounds amazing at idle. 111lsa ftw

Just one of those things, when we first started the G5X series of cams back in the late 90's early 00's we posted specs of the cams along with dyno results and it didn't take long for the cam to be copied.

I know there is always a way to copy something with all of the scanning software that is out there now but no point in posting the answers to the test before it's taken right?

I'll be happy to answer any questions I can about any part of it but yeah I can't post specs on it.

I completely understand and don't blame you what so ever. It's a great performer and you guys have the results and happy customers to prove it.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=g6x3

There are a ton of videos, track times, and dyno graphs out there of the cam.

Now I typically like to speak on the conservative side of things so headers/cold air/G6X3 on a manual LS3 car will typically make 480-495 rwhp. A few of the cars have hit 500 with a few other bolt on's (under drive, ported TB......) but on the conservative side that is typically where they fall.

Ported heads can put it in the 520-530 rwhp range. The best we have seen on a stock short block on 93 pump gas was 540 rwhp and 570 on 104 octane with a built bottom end (stock 6.2L displacement).

Say I wanna go supercharge down the road with a ecs is this cam okay for that?
