Here might be my last question on this, then I think I know what direction I'm going to roll ahead with. Can the x-pipe be swapped out of an ARH system while leaving the rest of it intact on the car? Can it be done fairly quickly and easily (ie: loosen a few bolts and clamps on each end of the x-pipe and remove)? I'm looking into just getting the appropriate part and then working with a friend of mine who works on cars regularly to do the swap ourselves.

How many mile do you drive a year:

Four years or older and driven less than 12,000 miles in past two years. Owner must have owned vehicle for two years and must be tested on-cycle (even model year vehicles test in even years, odd model year vehicles test in odd years). Give approved proof of odometer readings to department.

This is specific to emissions tests which only happen in the St. Louis area (other side of state from me).
