A6 Transmission Pan
The only way the level can go down is from a leak, so assuming you don't find any oil under the car, I don't really see much reason to check the oil often.
You must have to much time on your hands to consider all these "make work" projects.

I will also measure the height of the fill level tube from the rail and compare it to the drain hole on the stock pan.
Please note that this pan is not deeper than the stock pan. I measured the stock pan the other day and the depth is right around 3 3/8" and this one is listed as being 3.35" so the difference is negligible. The extra capacity comes from the full length sump. I also like that it has a baffle at the rear of the pan to help keep the oil in the sump under hard acceleration. That can't be a bad thing either. The filter sits right down into the bottom of the pan and sucks from the bottom, so there is no doubt that there will be more oil available at the filter at any given level, since there's more capacity at the bottom of the pan.
In any event, it's on its way to me and, if it fits, I will install it and take some pics and post it on here for anyone who wants to do this mod. The argument that it's not necessary applies to just about everything we do to these poor cars anyhow!

On the dipstick thing, it's more of having an easier time topping up the ATF level, but I'm not gonna frig around with that now for sure.
I only wish I had plenty of time on my hands. I run two very different and challenging businesses and things have been crazy busy lately. I basically do this **** at night when I have a chance to try keep my sanity, although it may be having a counterproductive effect, for all I know.
I was referring to the extra volume of the filter, which is a larger "big mouth" filter with a larger intake port that I ordered from PATC. I have no way of knowing whether that does anything either, but it must be good to buy that kind of insurance. Ditto for the added capacity and baffling of the Moroso pan.
And the aftermarket has also a couple of options for the Camaro from what I've seen.
Thanks nonetheless though. Remember to email me your shipping address when you have a chance, if you want that 90mm pulley.

And it must especially suck since the Heartbeat was designed down there by Ken Nunn, and from what I see on YouTube alone, they must sell as many units in Australia as they do in the US. They certainly seem to be pushing those things to the limits too.
Our exchange rate may be higher and pegged to the USD, but trust me when I tell you that comes at a high price. The cost of living down here is crazy.
Let me know if and when you pull the trigger on the blower. Also bear in mind as well that there are cheaper options for FI that give you more room to grow power wise.

Now, in return, I'm hoping that I can convince you to buy one of these pans in the future too!

I just picked it up from UPS a short while ago. Looks nice. Also looks identical to LG pan, based on the photos posted on this thread.
Cant believe it got here from California in about 24 hrs.

Will post some pictures a little later.

If you look at the pictures of the LG pan posted earlier on this thread, you can see that corner has been cut back to avoid interference with the C6 rear crossmember. I had to clearance mine a little bit and it fits, but just barely. I'll decide whether I need to pull it off and modify that corner or just leave it alone. As it stands, I'll have to drop the cradle to install two of the rear bolts, as there is no other way to get to them with the full length sump.
First, the new Moroso pan. The depth of the sump is right at 3 - 5/16" as you can see in the photo. Very close to stock height, which is 3 - 1/4" (photo of that in a bit).
The depth of the fill level tube from the top of the pan rail though, is 5/8", although it looks like 9/16" in the photo. That's a big difference from the stock pan. More on that in a bit.

Depth of sump = 3 1/4" give or take a 1/6th.
Depth of fill level = 1 1/8". Obviously, that will put the fill level about a 1/2' higher in the Moroso pan than in the stock pan. That alone should add nearly a quart of fluid, I would guess?

You want one of those now don't you? Tell the truth.

No, actually you don't. It's a big PITA, to be honest. Too bad I didn't take your advice. But now I know and at least some others that may want to try this will know what they're facing.
I'm going to drop the cradle one night this week when I get a chance to put in the two rear bolts. I'll probably take the opportunity toninstall the Hinson mounts that I've had sitting for 6 months the same time.
I know, I don't need those either...
The LG pan is more than twice the cost of the Moroso, but it can fit the C6 without any modification (more on that later). So, for anyone looking to simply do a bolt-on install of a welded, full sump sheet metal pan, the LG pan is your only option.
I'll finish it up tomorrow and report back on fill capacity, etc.
