Default tow hooks?

New to the C6 platform, looking for info on how to attach a tow strap to the front or rear of my, new to me, 2012 Grand Sport. Had to pull a low car out of the snow yesterday, and it had hooks from factory under the car. Got me thinking about a similar situation, where I might need to be pulled out in a jam, and I wondered about how I would do it on the GS. Could find no information on this subject in my forum searches.
Thanks!

The ones I've seen advertised and am sure for all. You have to remove front bumper cover and attach it to the frame. Cut a small hole in front grill so it sticks out. not sure of the rear install.

11 GS myself and just not going to remove nose. Am given to understand Europe demands them. And Chevy put them on cars sold there.

Rear is simple, it uses the muffler hanger bolts.

I looked for year for a simple front one and finally gave up and removed the bumper cover.

The rear one is bolted on using the muffler hanger bolts. Easy install. The front is another story. There are two or three designs specific to the c6 that I'm aware of. I think the bumper cover has to come off for all those styles.

And of course, all the ones mentioned are exposed. So you now look like a track guy, which aint a bad look

The towing companies use a hook into the shipping slots on the frame, which is the same place used for jacking pucks. If you're stuck in snow, it wouldn't hurt to even be pulled sideways, since you'd be sliding anyway.

Default t-hook solution?

OK, so realizing the major hassle and cost to get tow hooks installed on my GS, which ,hopefully, I will not ever need, would this work? Pick up a set of t-hooks in the correct size and get a nylon tow strap with the correct size hooks in order to secure to the frame mounted t-hooks. Then just attach another tow strap to the connected strap/ t-hooks and pull the car out. I am somewhat mechanically challenged, would this method work? It seems as though it would be pretty straight forward and relatively inexpensive to implement. would really appreciate any input on this before I waste my time and money getting the parts needed!
Thanks

It is not easy to install either the front or the rear. I have done both personally on my Z06, which is similar to the GS. The problem with the rear is that there is only a SLIVER of room between the mufflers themselves and the spot that you bolt the tow hook to after dropping the hangars. The mufflers can only be pushed out of the way a little bit. So when you put the tow hook up there, the bracket takes up what little space you have to re-insert the bolt. After much swearing, I got it up on my lift and had to pry the mufflers apart and it still was a pain in the ***. Would have been easier to simply drop the exhaust I think.

As for the front tow hook, the front bumper cover needs to come completely off. Then you have to drill into the front frame rails and enjoy attempting to hold a nut onto a bolt in the frame tube that is about 18" away inside of a tube about 3" wide. I ended up duct taping my wrench onto a long piece of thin metal to hold the nuts in place inside the frame as I bolted the hook on.

Both are a bit of work, but can be done in a weekend if you are handy with tools. If you aren't and don't have the appropriate tools then either bring it to a shop or find another method. Mine is driven on a race track and I do all my own work or else I wouldn't have bothered.
