I got my NPP in a Box installed and is works fine. It's set to start open and then it closes automatically. I'm reading different things online. Is that the only way it works? I'd like to set it to start open and stay open. I'll only close when I want to.
The FOB for the NPP in a Box should have an on/off button, right? Off = open/wild setting. If you leave it in the off setting does it remain off at next start up or does it default back to on?

yours is set to "start closed" right now , the only reason why it sounds like it is open is because the engine has to build vacuum
You can switch the start up mode by removing the 4 screws on the cover of the black box . You will see a thin white with that is plugged into the Air control valve
If you want to change the mode just unplug it (do not pull on the wire, only the connector) and plug it into the other red wire with the open connector on it. Now it will "start open"

Defaults back to what ever it is wired to do , you need to swap the wires to change the default ... easy 5 min job
