We have been installing these units for a while now and are firm believers in its benefits. We currently have the ProEFI traction control working off the factory traction control button. The front wheel speed is compared to the rear wheel speed and if there's a discrepancy of, let's say 5mph (we can set it up for different speeds), the ProEFI will start pulling timing out of the car. Once it pulls as much timing as it can it will start to pull throttle throttle angle. It does all of this with one of the fastest processors on the market. Not only do you get seamless traction control but you also have engine safety features that can save you a lot of money down the road. Example, if your oil pressure falls below a safe level, the ProEFI monitors this and can be commanded to RPM limit the engine and throw a CEL or even put into limp mode. The same can be said for fuel pressure.
With a boosted setup, the benefits are almost endless. Boost by MPH or boost by gear, CO2 control, rolling anti-lag, etc.
The install is pretty straight forward and is a true stand alone. Does not have to work in parallel with the stock computer.
Tuning takes a little more time to complete than an OE computer but we also have more control over the engine and can really fine tune every aspect of the vehicle. Our shop C6 Z06 now idles and drives smoother thanks to ProEFI. See below for traction control testing
