Jk, it's not hard. Just have to remove the bezel that goes around the gauges, then it has 4 plastic tabs holding it in. Gently pull those out just enough to pop each corner of the switch out and it will pop right out. New one just pops in, plug in wire, put the bezel back in and you're done
I don't recall the bezel itself having any screws, just pops on with clips IIRC. Toughest part is getting the wires for the HUD/DIC buttons disconnected, though honestly you could probably just pull the bezel out enough to get the start button out without removing it totally.
I replaced mine pretty much first thing, they're cheap and make the car look a lot better if the paint is worn off of yours. I think I paid $40 for a brand new one.

Has anyone remove the start/stop engine push button on your C6 and how difficult will be?
I replaced the start/stop button on mine while I had the dash a part for another problem. It was very easy. I dont remember every detail however the instrument bezel that the switch is mounted to just pulls straight off its clips. Just be careful and take your time starting from the right lower corner and move across the top to left lower corner. The only tricky part i ran into was releasing the wire connectors from the back of the DIC buttons and the HUD buttons. Also be careful of the sensor next to the start switch and remove its connector as you go.
If you take your time and be aware of the plastic parts it isnt hard to do.

...or you could accidently push it too hard and it pop out on its own...don't ask me how I know but it was an easy fix without removing any of the dash components.
