The guys at RPM said I should probably change them even though car has low miles....they said cars that sit alot have a tendency to put excessive amount of wear on the bottom ball bearing and cause premature bearing failure

Yeah, stock one is still in there. But I'm still on '05 rear end so I can't really do hard launches or anything like that, mostly 2nd gear and up for me

Dose anybody know rather the large locking nut that is on the back of the shaft is reusable or a remove and replace? I took it off so I can get to the bearings and it came off really hard. Threads look ok but not perfect...

I had to replace those bearings in a 12k mile 06 last year. Its a ridiculous amount of work I had to do a second time for not replacing them when I did the clutch.

I'm at like 200K now

I replaced the couplers, bolts, bearings and bearing slinger or whatever it's called that goes in front of the first bearing not long after I bought it at like 130K or so

Do you remember where you purchased the slinger from and or the part number. I'm having issues finding it and mine got al little damaged on removal.

Here is the part number on the slinger. I’m in the process of doing bearings and a carbon fiber shaft.
