I found some used obx headers and installed them on my car. Overall they fit well but on one of the tubes they are just barely touching the steering shaft. When I first installed them I could actually slide a sheet of paper between the shaft and pipe but as things settle and what not they are ever so slightly touching.
Obviously the easiest solution is to get after the shaft with a dremel, but if it is hollow that may not be such a good idea. Anyone know?
hit the header with a hammer to flatten it out near the shaft. Its weird your headers are so close though - mine has a good 1/2" gap or so even after its been wrapped. Don't clearance the shaft unless you want no steering at speed...

Was thinking that also, but would rather not pull the header back out.... If it is not hollow I think it would be okay to shave a bit off, but I dont wanna cut in to it to find out it is hollow
My Pfadt Tri-Y headers did the same. I actually felt it contacting the steering shaft through the steering wheel during high speed corners. We banged a "dimple" into the pipe contacting the shaft and it hasn't touched since. I'd feel more comfortable doing that than cutting metal off of a steering shaft.
