Default Steering rack sensor

I am using a 2012 GS donor chassis for my 59 Chevy Apache. before I clip off the two wire sensor on the steering rack, I was wondering what it was for? Pressure or temp maybe?

I read the post and didn't understand. Is this a "magnasteer"?

Yep, and the EBCM is what controls the magnasteer in the rack.

So on a C6 EBCM, you have the wheel speed senors from each wheel bearing, the steering wheel position sensor, the yaw/accelerator, and a few other systems/modules that the Ebcm is motoring for not only the magnasteer, the ABS system, TC, but active handling as well.

If your not planning on using the EBCM/its systems, then need to pull the magnasteer rack and install a manual rack isntead.

You can still use the magnasteer rack without the electronics, however you will have the steering effort of the C6 at 45mph.

Thanks,

I am using power steering and a hydroboost, but not the magnasteer wiring. What is the steering effort of a c6 at 45mph?
Does that mean it's much softer or harder? I just want a consistent feel.

It will have a lighter feel to it, but in a different application it may feel great. I would recommend trying it and if it needs to be heavier or lighter then we can modify the flow rate of the pump to fine tune the feel.

Thanks,
Junior
