Looks to be an actual Radiator type cooler with multi passage channels through it, over the OEM cooler that is just pipes with cooling fins on the pipes instead.

So what is there not to like about it, since your going to get a lot more heat transfer with it for oil cooling.

The pictures
look good, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with the supplier. Thanks!

Never heard of them...but it looks nice. The OE unit is far too efficient for street use to begin with, so this would most certainly be for the track enthusiast if it proves to be even more efficient. I'd probably still go with a Setrab if I needed an upgrade.

I have a Setrab on my diff (3:73 Quaiffe). I have a Z51 and when I built my diff, I added the European side cover for the cooler and a ZR-1 rear cover/pump I bought on the forum. RPM machined the pinion to drive the pump and I put the cooler with a NACA dust in my APR diffuser. I have to admit that I bought this cooler yesterday because it looks great.

I bought the car as my kids done with college gift to myself in 2006 and will never sell it, so I do stuff that doesn't always make sense, but it had to have function.

Let us know what you think of it, and how it works for you. Are you currently running a GM Z06 oil cooler on your car?

Yes, have a Z06 cooler on it. I removed it today, and the new on arrives on Friday. It slips in from the hole in the bottom of the bumper, but I removed everything to clean it all before I put it back together. Thanks!

Looks really good Tim, my car is now in Arizona as I end my career in Seattle, something like this might come in handy. A 40 degree reduction over the stock oil cooler is pretty impressive. I wonder about the pressure drop if there is any, plus you might need an engine oil thermostat if you have trouble getting the oil above 200 - or want to get it there faster.

Part arrived, looks just like the picture and installed just like the OE one. Not sure of any improvement in cooling because it has been raining and cooler since I got it. I have to be honest, even though no one will see it, I bought it because it matched my aluminum radiator and looks cool.

Improved racing has a couple kits...a T-stat and line kit for the OE oil cooler, and another kit that includes a new replacement cooler that looks similar in design to the OP’s.

Here's our cooler. We have the end tanks running across the top and bottom for a triple-pass flow design, while minimizing pressure drop. Our cooler is also less expensive. They will be in stock within the next couple of weeks. You will also be able to purchase it separately from the complete kit and we will also have a generic version of this cooler without the C6 mounting bungs available.

Hello guys, i have an Z06 and for some reason I found a pool of oil under it today.I phoned my friend (he also has an Z06) he asked me to check the transmission cooler and lines but i have zero experience with these things so he sent me this link with videos : transmissioncoolerguide.com.Well, the videos were helpful but i'm still scared to make it worse if i tried to fix it by my own and my friend is in another state for a few days. So idk guys can you help me out or i should call a mechanic ??

Hi Gabrielle, you might want to open a separate thread, maybe one in the Z-06 section too. With the dry sump system, there are several places where an oil leak could develop.

New thread and some details, perhaps some photos too, and I'm sure we can figure it out.
