Default Cam swap/ lifter ??

Planning a cam swap on my higher mileage c6 (ls2). Has 98,000 miles on it the clock. Still runs like new and holds good oil pressure. My list is almost complete, just looking for advice on lifters. Obviously with the miles i'm pulling heads to change lifters. Not sure if ls7 stockers are the right choice, not looking the break the bank either. Considering the caddy lifters($300) or drop in morels($200) as a replacement. Any recommendations?

Current list of parts:
Tick SNS stage 2 cam
BTR dual springs
pushrods
trunion kit for rocker
c5r timing chain
mellings high pressure pump
mls head gaskets
arp head bolts
lifters?

BTW, car driven less than 2000 miles a year. Other option is screw the lifters , throw a cam in it and pray the stockers hold up.

Unless you're adding a cam with "stock like" lift figures (something like the LS7 or LS9 cam), I'd be changing the lifters at your mileage. A higher performance cam with higher lift, more aggressive ramp rates, longer duration, and stiffer valve springs all add to stress on the valve train. It's a good "opportunity" to upgrade the heads a little too since they have to come off to change the lifters. TxSpeed will CNC port your heads, do a valve job, mill them to spec, set up your valve springs, all for $750. I have a set of those jewels, new lifters, mild cam, rod modded intake manifold, and various other parts in my office waiting to be installed.

For a hundred bucks installing lifter is cheap insurance when doing a cam swap.

Great lifters, just thought it was probably overkill for the cam and rpm. Probably leaning towards stock ls7, won't see much over 6000rpm most of the time.

I believe ls7 and ls3 are the same lifter.
