Default Intermittent Steering Column/seat Memory

I have a 2008 C6 coupe with the 4LT package. For some time I have been experiencing intermittent issue with my steering column. In the beginning it only happen every now and then however, now it is happening more frequently. The problem is that the column does not return to the set driving position. Some times it will come out a little other times it won't move at all, every now and then it comes all the way out. I have rest it according to the reset procedure in the service manual. Recently the seats started to not return to the correct position, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I reset the stops on the seats according to the procedure in the service manual and no change.

I have taken it to the dealer but they can not repeat the problem. I am no longer under warranty so I'm on my own to figure it out.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so were you able to resolve it?

Would be good to remove your seat while it still moves and check the wires at the connector that supplies power to the seat module.

My 2008 has the same problem for years. The dealer had the seat out 4 times while under warranty and replaced the complete seat flame because the 3 motors are on the rail but the problem always came back. They also replaced the memory module.I turned off my memory setting and leave my steering wheel all the way out because that is the way i like it and set the seat with the switch if needed......It must be a thing for the 08's.

1) Yes
2) Not very well. My memory module was replaced twice under warranty. And the problem returned again after the warranty expired. I've been able to cure it temporarily by doing a hard reset of the module - disconnect the battery ground, operate the power seat switches to drain any residual voltage, connect the battery and reset the seat & steering wheel limit and memory positions. It will work fine for 1-6 mo. and then act up. The reset has brought it it back every time, so far. And yes, I've had the seat out, checked the connectors & wiring, made sure the module wasn't being smashed under the seat, etc. I guess I'll buy yet another module, once I run out of other stuff to spend $$$ on, or when it finally dies for good.
