Default Rear View Mirror

Our rear view mirror on the windshield is loose, both the windshield plastic mount and the mirror itself, how do I tighten it? Not find any allen screws.

Thanks!

Well, there is a common problem involved but I'm not sure on the "windshield plastic mount" part. If the windshield piece is actually coming loose from the glass then that will require some professional help and adhesive I think.

The other issue, the loose mirror on the mount, is common. Here are several threads to look at, and I suggest you look at all of them, so you understand what is wrong so you can decide if you want to tackle it yourself. Good luck.

Thanks Rick.

Took it apart, straightened the pins the best I could, but no joy. The mirror is still loose so I ordered the kit from my local Chevy dealer, should be here by Friday.

I had no idea this was an on-going issue.

Thanks again.

You'll bend the pins again if you try to shove it on. Notice the back of the mirror post is a triangle. As is the wind shield mount. If you line up the mirror post, offset 60 degrees from vertical, on the mount it will take (near) zero effort to be flush to the windshield. If you rotate the mirror post to vertical it will lock itself in.
