I have a 2006 that’s has a chirping noise coming from the front of the engine with little throttle applied. Could that be the harmonic balance.
It could. It could also be something else in the accessory drive, like a bearing. Worst case it's internal to the engine, such as a lifter. There seems to be a lot of that going around at the moment.
Don't guess.....get yourself a mechanics stethoscope ($3.99 at Harbor Freight) or a short length of garden hose & listen around all the rotating components at the front of the engine to identify the source of the noise. Hopefully it's something cheap to fix like like a worn serpentine belt or a bad idler pulley bearing or maybe something more serious like the HB going bad. In any case, you'll know the source & can proceed from there.

One of the first things ever to go wrong with my Vette was a chirping type noise. Ended up being the exhaust manifold gaskets had perished would you believe? Sounded just like belt chirp but there you go.
