Default LS7 Cold Air Intake

I am thinking about doing a cold air intake on my 427 convertible next summer. I am hoping that anyone who has changed out their stock intake on their LS7 would shoot a video of the car on start up and revving up to 4000 RPM so I can decide based on sound and manufacturer's claims for HP increase. I still miss the sound of the 4 bbl carb. and engine combination on my 67 Camaro with LT1 engine dropped into it from back in the 1980s so would love a similar sound.

Not sure of if you can post videos on this forum, so I hope videos could be uploaded to Youtube instead.

intake on an LS7 will make almost zero sound difference... maybe a light whistle on idle, slight growl on throttle stomp - but most noise comes out the back and will overwhelm any perceptible change in intake/induction noise. No EFI car will sound like a carb'd or ITB'd car sadly.

That is disappointing. I was hoping maybe a ram air style induction would have a distinct sound like the 4 bbl opening up. A little more exhaust growl would be okay but I do not necessarily want to change to performance exhaust.

And the reason you will NEVER get that 60's 70's and 80's sound is that the firing order is different. Hence the sound is also.

Your living in the past ...... I think this is the sound you remember >>

The Quadrajet carb ..... Primaries the size of a dime, and secondaries the size of silver dollars !

The firing order changed slightly with the start of the LS engines.
