I have a 2005 LS2 57,000 miles doing a cam swap. I’m replacing timing chain with C5R chain. Do I need to or should I replace crank and cam sprocket if no visible wear?
Plan on doing C5R timing chain kit. Just not wanting to do anything unnecessary. Also changing oil pump also. Anyone know on a LS2 if oil pan has to be dropped slightly to change oil pump?
I slightly dropped my oil pan so I did the gasket at the same time
Yes I had 4 lifters falling into the block
I had the luck they was all 4 in my oil pan

If you had good oil pressure before and there is no visible wear, I don't see a reason to replace the sprockets.
Went ahead and ordered a complete C5R timing kit. Also have confirmed LS2 oil pan does not have to be lowered to replace oil pump on Corvette. Seems if an LS2 is in Trailblazer/GTO the oil pump bolt is on the inside flange and oil pan has to be lowered.

No you do not have to drop the pan at all to do the pump,
