Default Lifter noise

My first Ls7 Iv rebuilt, and love it. the ls7 lifters were in short supply about 4 months ago, so I went with some “Engine Pro” brand from EPW. It’s quiet at idle but around 22-2500 rpm it’s a little noisy. I don’t know if this is a ls7 thing or if I should go up a little on oil thickness. I’m running 5/30 M1 now. When the engine is cold it’s quiet. Thanks for advice!

Are you sure it's not the injectors you are hearing?
Tell us a bit about your rebuild! heads, cam? if so how much pre-load on the lifters?

it’s 100% stock rebuild. I used all GM parts, and had my cylinder head guy put in new GM valve guides. My preload was .060

After market lifters could be different height causing a need for longer or shorter pushrods! Did you check lifter plunger travel?

Most LS engines have a noisy rpm range. Mine is most noticeable in the 1800-2200 range. Totally stock car. it does reduce running a heavier oil

I will try it. Not bad just annoying I can’t figure out what it is. Thank you for the reply. Btw, That’s the same range mine is.
