I've read all the threads concerning fuel pumps but they are all several years old or have conflicting info.
A little background on the car.
I bought it several months ago and as usual i couldn't leave well enough alone. I've bought a S/C kit which led to addressing the weak rear end in the 05. This led to buying a low mileage Zo6 drivetrain. I'll be rebuilding the TT , adding a new clutch, MC and slave cylinder. While working under the car i can smell gas which leads me to believe that my car has the cracked fuel pump unit, even though the GM SB only applied to 2007+ cars. So needless to say I'd like to fix any issue i can before putting the drivetrain back in.
I'm looking for a drop in replacement fuel pump. My search has landed on AC Delco MU1549 as the pump replacement with the sending unit. I found it for 350ish. My questions are
Is there a better drop in replacement?
what are the flow specs on the MU1549 and is it a "better" pump than the stock unit it my car, ie.. Is it the Zo6 pump from later years.
I have a BAP from ECS and I've looked at their stage 1 fuel system but that requires the stock pump still.
I looked at the lingenfelter drop in pump. They claim it supports 700ish rwhp on forced induction applications at . 6 bsfc. I'm not entirely sure what bfsc is and how it is calculated. They also state that the pump flows 260lph at 13.5 volts. Isn't that what a zo6 pump flows?
Here ya go.
Drop-in module that flows 450-525 LPH which should be more than enough fuel.
Order directly from Racetronix for fast service.
The unit includes a new fuel level sensor as well. There is also a harness that's required and it is included in the link.
There are 3 different modules depending on fuel needed and external or internal regulator.
What you need to be aware of is the sending units changed in 2007 from 240 ohm being full to 240 ohm being empty. You can use a later pump but make sure you either transfer you old fuel tank sendor or the new one has a sendor like your. You can test your old and new one with an ohm meter to make sure. If you put the wrong one in your fuel tank when empty will read full and vise versa. The difference between the old pump you have in your car (2005) and a Z06 pump, is the Z06 pump flows about 10% more fuel. The Racetronic site has a fuel pump graph I think at 58 psi the Z06 flows like 255 lph whereas your old one is like 230 lph.

I ordered the TU-475-450 from racetronix which is a walbro 450 pump in a pnp basket to replace the the left tank pump assembly. Should i hook up the BAP as well or just leave it off?
I'll be running the ECS 1500 with restrictor plate with an alky methanol system for safety more than power until i can rebuild the short block. 65lbs fast injectors.
