Default LS 7 lifter collapse

Guy's been a way for a while put just picked up a c6 z a couple of months ago ( had two fix roof coupes and two c5 z06's in the past) any way the car does have some miles like 125k to be exact, any way just had it sitting in the yard idling the other day and it started skipping thought that in might be a coil pack or plug etc turned out it collapsed a lfter, has any one experienced any thing like this before, the engine has never made any noise other than the skip, i was aware of the head problems before hand and just had to roll the dice any way, I've herd of the valve problems etc and its time to do the heads and cam for sure, i cant find any info from the past of the heads being done, there's so many different head company's and such out there now just looking for some suggestions or some real world numbers and info on what peoples been using, i really like the rpm stuff btw! THANKS FOR ANY INSIGHT!

Well looks like the lifter broke on the camshaft side and it want come out, you can see where it broke looking threw the block, jagged not a clean even brake at all which i guess makes since, i was going to do the heads and camshaft any way but now looks like the engine is going to have to come out, the lifter will move enough to get the cam out, There is not one spec of metal in the oil, I'll be cutting the oil filer apart tomorrow, but there hast to be metal somewhere, any suggestions, would y'all pull the engine? THANKS!
