09 A6 Shifter won’t shift

09 A6 Shifter won’t shift

So I removed the console and took these pics. Would this just be the grommet fix? I haven’t gone under the car yet to see if the rear is broken.

This is the grommet I put on the front. It is the wrong one? Or is it supposed to be the clear one

The white one, not the clear one, for both ends.

Also, when you do go to put the cable back in with the new end grommets on the trans last, unlock the end of cable length piece, put the trans into neutral, shifter into neutral, then get the cable to correct length installed (to account for cable stretch), lock the adjuster, pop the grommet back out to reinstall the red hood, and then reinstall the cable on the trans shifter linkage.
