Default Brakes randomly locking up

I have a 2007 Corvette coupe with 56,000 miles. I have a six speed manual transmission. Just recently I have had my brakes lock up when I stop at stop signs/stop lights. So far I have been able to break them loose by putting it in first gear and accelerating forward. Is this a caliper going bad? This just came up without any warning signs that I know of. Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Don't want to burn up my clutch.

Start by pulling wheels & check condition of pads & rotors. At 56K miles, if pads have never been changed you're probably running one or more pad backing plates into the rotor causing what you describe as "lockup". If the pads/rotors are all good, master cylinder may be going bad.

Would guess that the brake fluid has never been flushed/replaced, and may have a caliper piston that is seizing from water corrosion.
Hence GM calls out for the brake fluid to be flushed (power bleed) every 2 years, since brake fluid will absorb moister out of the air.

But as stated, time to check the pads, the rotors, and even the calipers to make sure that the pistons are moving freely/parts are not worn out.
From there, you get into both the master cylinder and even the brake booster that may have problems.

If you can do this SAFELY, when (if) it happens again, shut off the engine, restart and see if the brakes have released.

It could be that the flex hoses at the calipers have internally collapsed. If they collapse, the high pressure from the power brakes will push fluid past the restricted part, but will not allow the fluid to reverse flow.
New hoses and bleeding will fix this.
