My 600+whp C6 base is 14 years old and has 32000 miles.
A friend who has the equipment is going to power flush the brake sys. and it probably will not be flushed again after that.
Purpose of my Vette is 4000 miles per summer and roll racing when the opportunity arises.
That means I have to break hard from 140 maybe 3 times in a row.
The car is never on a road course.
Hardest work the breaks do is roll racing in summer heat.
-Which break fluid should I refill with?
-Recommend break pads.
Its a Z51 car.
Because Motul RBF600 is VERY hygroscopic, and if you're only driving 4k miles a year and never planning to flush it again (wtf?) then that is for sure the wrong fluid to use. If you are planning to flush it at least once a year then it's fine, but the OP specified that it would not be flushed again, for whatever reason.
Dot 4 pulls humidity out of the air faster than Dot 3, But Dot4 has a higher boiling temp.
As for brake fluid power flushes, even with Dot 3, manual call out for it every 2 years, since the water in the fluid that is pulls out of the air, will cause corrosion problems inside the system over time.
As for street pads, either the HD's that came OEM with the car, or if you looking for something that will have less dusting, then 1521 pads.
Note, neither will have the working temps to run on High speed road course tracks, but both work very well at street temps.
