Hey everyone, i just finished replacing my radiator and buttoned up everything. Put new coolant in and everything and let the car run. It got up to 230 degrees and never saw the fan come on. I turned the car off right away. I plugged both plugs in so I am not sure what I'm missing that would keep the fan from turning on. Can anyone help please? Thank you!
Just to ensure that the fan works, turn on your A/C, this causes the fan to run regardless of the temperature. If the fan still doesn't run, then additional troubleshooting needed on the fan connectors, etc.
It may also be possible that you have air in the coolant system that needs to be resolved and this is affecting the higher temperature recording. Review the below procedure to ensure that something may have been bypassed and also the sentence at the end that refers to the "burp" procedure to remove air pockets.
Burping will help for sure..... Turn your heat on full blast. Get the motor to temp (t stat open)... Carefully remove the rad cap (release pressure) and squeeze the upper rad hose like you are pumping a fuel bulb on an outboard. Keep the coolant level to the top to ensure no air gets back in. You will see bubbles and bubbles. Keep doing this until the bubbles are gone. This will prob take a few heat cycles to get your coolant right. Also have the right coolant to refill. During this time, also check to make sure your heat gets warm/hot. Cold heat usually means air in the system.
Just some tips for you
