Muffler mod question
Hey all, since I'm leaning towards NPP in a box and some z06/zr1 mufflers, I was thinking about also cutting out and replacing the 3-2.5" neck down coming into the muffler. It looks like it should work, but my only concern is if the pipe has an open chamber going in/out of the middle of the mufflers, if that would cause issues with it. Has anyone had their mufflers cut open in such a way that they can see what is on the outer edges of it? Along with that, is the inner pipe 2.5", or 3" on the zr1 mufflers? If it's only 2.5, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go fusions I think.

I haven't done the mod but from what I've seen it looks like as the pipe necks down from 3" to 2.5" it continues through the muffler as 2.5" .... However, much of the way through it is perforated, and that perforated section looks to be greater than 2.5". Check this out, especially at about 6:05 min
