Have a 08 Z06 that is occasionally giving me service ABS, Traction control & Active Handling Messages. After doing some research l purchased a used EBCM module from a 05 C6. I am hoping l can remove the old module myself and replace it with the module purchased.
Would like to know from someone who has done this before whether the module should be flashed with my cars vin before l install it or can l install it and then take it to a GM dealer who has a Tech 2. Just wanting to confirm that the car would be drive able before starting this job.
Does this mean that the car can’t be driven until this done?

Finally solved my 08 Z06 problem, It turns out the EBCM was losing communication with the right front wheel speed sensor when my speed would be over 60 mph. This would trigger 3 messages, service abs/traction control/active handling.
We replaced the right front wheel hub assembly along with sensor and wiring did not solve the problem.
Bought 2 used EBCM modules and ended up using one from a base 08 C6 that solved the problem. No more messages.
Did not have to go to a dealership and have the module flashed. Just replaced the old one with the new used one.
