Default Tpms Sensors

I recently got a c6 vette with 64k miles after a couple of hundred miles I got light indicating to service the tires. Once I took it to the dealer they told me I needed all four tpms sensors, each one costing $130. The front two read XX And the back two didn’t show anything. I’m guessing the previous owner only replaced the front two. My question is, would you need all four programmed for some to work after doing the relearn? Or should I go ahead and replace all.

sounds like previous owner may have thrown some wheels on with no sensors at all. There are much cheaper sensors available, but getting them all mounted isn't going to be cheap. I believe the re-learn process initiates all 4 in sequence, but they don't all necessarily have to be new if you can confirm they are present and working.

I too just purchased a 2007 C6. I checked the date codes on the tires before I bought it so I knew the tires were 10 years old and needed replacement. Since the tires are 10 years old, I knew the TPMS sensors were at least that old. I went back and forth about replacing them since they all currently work, but finally decided to replace them when the tires are installed. The ones I'm putting on from the tire shop retail for $60 a piece (I'm getting them for $25 because of a mix up in the tire order) but the shop isn't charging labor to put them on since the tires are being replaced anyway.

I would verify how old your tires are and if they are more than five years old I would recommend replacing them regardless of tread wear. Then just have the TPMS sensors all replaced at the same time.

Incase you want to shop around:

Might has well all 4 sensors, and any tire stores can install them and have the the relearn tool, and no how to use it.

I just purchased and got delivered 4 new genuine AC Delco TPMS's i see no where on them any date codes. Is it buried in other numbers. I just want to make sure that i am not paying for new ones that are older than a year maybe. Does anyone know??
