recently swapped out my blown 05 diff for a 06+ DTE stage 3, 3.42 differential. I did swap out the tail housing to mate with a T-56, and it is a m6.
however the input shaft is smaller than the splines inside the differential itself.
I’ve read it was supposed to be a plug and play but now I’m stuck.
Wrong pinion gear. Later trans had a larger output shaft and corresponding pinion gear. You need a diff that has the smaller style pinion gear, or change the trans output shaft or replace the trans with the large shaft..

The output shaft of the trans would need to be changed to the larger spline output shaft. At this point, see if DTE will swap the rear for one that fits your trans. Usually the large shaft diffs are GS, Z06, and ZR1 diffs. Also make sure the half shafts are correct for your diff.
