Default NW Throttle Body

Car keeps going into reduced engine power and throwing code P2135. I checked connections and replaced accelerator pedal assembly and still have the problem. I do have a NW 102 and have seen some people say the sensors can sometimes go bad. Has anyone had this experience and has anyone fixed a NW throttle body sensor? Is this something you can fix or is this an unfortunate event and having to purchase a whole new TB?

Have you tried the “tb cleaned” function in hptuners? It basically relearns the closed position of the throttle body. I was having all kind of weird tuning issues & codes a couple of years ago that sound similar to yours, and this simple feature on hptuners fixed it.

No I have not. Is it clearly labeled “TB cleaned” or do you happen to know where it is located? Thank you for this information.

It is hptuners scanner, under the vehicle controls & special functions tab. Have the key on with the engine off to reset.

okay thank you. Just curious, will resetting or performing the TB cleaned mess with my tune? My car is NA but is built from the bottom up.

No, it won’t change anything with the tune.

Just wanted to update for people who may have an issue in the future. Spoke with Nick about what I had going on, he told me he was confident that is was the throttle body sensor. Bought part; “GM Genuine Parts 217-3153 Fuel Injection Throttle Body with Throttle actuator” off Amazon. That is the whole assembly because unfortunately they do not sale the OEM-AcDelco sensor separately. Nick advised against going with anything other than OEM. It was very easy to install and also performed the “TB Cleaned” on HP tuners. That being said, I don’t believe that is required but thought it was better than not doing it. She fired up and has had no codes or problems as of now. I will update later, after I get on it and put some hours on it.

Update: only a few hours on the new sensor, a few hard pulls and revs with no issue 🤞🏼. Before, if I even slightly accelerated, it would throw codes and go into reduced power mode. At one point if I even started the car it would immediately go into reduced power mode and throw the code. I will just assume the sensor was definitely an issue. As for now I will only update if this becomes a problem again. Good luck to anyone in the future if this happens and hope this helps.
