Hi ... I'm wondering if I can have the BT( hand free ) bottoms add to that steering wheel I know there is a steering wheels comes with the BT hand free but the one I like is not available any suggest ? Another thing I heard the guys they say it's useless to use it because they doing work good as they should be so what's the best idea to do ?
I have a thread laying around here somewhere with information on this topic. Let me see if I can dig it up for you. I wired my own. I put a 2012 steering wheel into my 2008 and it works. 2008 Bluetooth was not an option.
Pod section filler panel can be removed, and control panel with buttons added to that side of the steering wheel.
As for early models and later radio, will need to change out the clock spring and may need to add some wires to its connector on the car side, so the add panel buttons are sending out signals on the serial 2 bus.
As for blue tooth on the Vets Oem, part of the VCIM module on the later models, so on early models, you really just pushing the signal on the serial 2 bus to the after market radio module/after market radio for them to pick them up and use.
Note, make sure that the after market radio module does have Blue tooth buttton controls on it, and you set the switch to the correct setting.
