Do you really park in that many areas where you worry about your car being broken into? Seriously though, no it's hard mounted into the car. Car break-ins are typically about ****** and grab stuff like visible radar detectors or stuff left in the glove box/console.
Just an FYI, while you are looking for a new HU you can turn off "demo mode" in the settings of your current radio to eliminate the annoying lights/graphs.
