Hi! I’m new here 🙂🙃 I live on Long Island.
I’ve got an ‘07 Ron Fellows with 11 K original miles…last night in slooooow traffic the CEL came on…I’m thinking it’s O2 related….maybe not enuf airflow, also as I was puttering around with her this morning I realized i’d not had gas cap on tightly / properly…that CEL is annoying + I’m not going to dealer for THAT…she’s only got 11K miles, purrs like a kitten when opened…
I saw somewhere I could pull battery cables, push accessory button for 10s and that should fix it…thoughts, please?
You are right about a loose gas cap, or no gas cap. causing a CEL light. Best way to diagnose is to use a scan tool or go to an auto parts store and have them scan it. If that's all it was, you could have them clear the CEL for you, or disconnect battery for 10 seconds and reconnect. I would only disconnect battery with your windows rolled completely up, just incase they lose memory of indexing.
