Did you end up trying that? I am not as knowledgeable as most on the forum, but that very will could help.

Also did you check the PCV valve?

I did run techtron through it. I did not check pcv valve. I guess I'll just get a new one since I've never changed it.

It is unlikely that it is to the PCV valve. Before doing that you might want to wait for input from someone more knowledgeable

If you brought this vehicle to one of my shops this is how I would diagnose and proceed

1. compression test and inspection, bore scope, look for carbon buildup and oil
2. carefully consider plug condition, heat range, type of plug, coloration, etc...
3. Pressure test the intake system and pcv system separately (crankcase pressure static leak test)
4. Data-log fuel pressure, wideband air fuel ratio, timing, etc... looking for weakness in the fuel system or improper tuning

Repair wise, I would want to fully service the engine like so
A. R&R air filter to OEM paper matching CFM rate to engine HP so the PCV system will work properly, acquire correct plugs (iridium NGK)
B. Measure the crankcase pressure at idle/cruise and WOT to ensure oil droplets are small and oil stays out of the baffle system and blow-by contaminants are being removed
C. Remove intake system and fully clean it out using soap and water
D. Remove valve covers and clean them also with degreaser as needed, also remove carbon buildup where possible
E. Replace all PCV hoses and PCV valve and install a Toyota Supra 1998 PCV valve inline with Chevrolet PCV valve

Also as needed
F. Re-tune the engine to suit the needs of fuel quality and temperature for safety
G. Correct air temperature and fuel temperature/vaporization related issues, e.g. cold air induction, larger injectors with reduced fuel pressure, injector phase adjustment
H. Add insulation to engine bay components and reflective materials as needed to control temperature

Now the engine is clean, health checked, tuned properly, the fluids (air is a fluid) are the correct temperatures, the patient can have a clean bill of health

Thank you for the detailed advice. Now I'll need a local shop to go through the list with me.
