Default Traction control and engine light

Two separate issues on my 2013 anniversary traction control light on and engine light as well. Cycle the traction control button and then it started acting up…wouldn’t reset the traction control back on….also the engine light came on flashing…any thoughts or ideas? Anyone experience this problem?

Step 1) Connect OBD2 code reader, read DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
Step 2) Search here for same, codes

Flashing MIL means you are having catalytic converter damaging misfires so you don’t want to put this off !!…the TC light will illuminate so if you get the misfire fixed and the TC light will go out…you only have 1 issue…do you have a scan tool ??

No scan tool…haven’t really required it in the past…any idea what may be causing the miss fire? It’s a garage queen so not driven much…Sunday for church 😀

Well it can be ignition, fuel, or mechanical ??…we don’t know if it’s 1 cylinder, or 1 bank, or maybe even just random misfires…a majority of misfires are ignition related so maybe it’s plugs or wires…does it miss at start up, at idle, or under load ??…you can try mixing some baking soda and water and spray it on the plug wires in a darkened garage…see if you see sparks flying around…when were the plugs last changed ??…diagnosing a misfire is easiest if you have a scan tool and a scope…this way you don’t guess…it can be clogged injectors, maybe a bad O2 if it’s 1 bank misfiring…hard to say but we can just help you guess here…I don’t like to guess…LOL !!…you can remove an injector connector and see if you hear the RPM change…if it doesn’t that’s your bad cylinder…this method is hard to do on V8’s because the change is small…it’s easier on a 4 cylinder.

Thank you, that give me a lead to review, I did hear a light knock on drives side near firewall, all gauges were fine, on acceleration there was a small amount of waffling sound from the exhaust but at normal speeds sound and performance seemed fine…Will attack it when I return home in a couple of weeks. Thanks again
