Default Tire/Wheel setup

Hello all,

So to start off the car is a '08 base that I've swapped over to Z06 panels/bumper with all proper OEM stuff. The question I have is, I recently acquired some new wheels and I wanted input on what tire sizes to run without throwing off the speedo too much, The front wheels are 18x9.5, and the rears are 19x12 with the appropriate offsets. I'm currently looking at 285/35's for the front, and 315/30's for the rear. Is that going to drastically mess with the overall dimensions, and if so, what sizes should I run? Thanks!

1st post ... Welcome to the Corvette Forum

The stock GS / Z06 front wheel is a18x9.5 (+40mm Offset) with a 275 / 35ZR -18 tire (25.6” Diameter)

The stock GS / Z06 rear wheel is a 19x12 (+59mm Offset) with a 325 / 30ZR -19 tire (26.7” Diameter)

That's what I would use on your base model C6 with Z06 fenders.

Thank you! I was looking at those sizes, but there’s not many options in stock nearby. Would going slightly wider in the front and narrower in the rear effect the overall diameter that much to mess anything up?

Don't buy the tires locally. The cheapest price you will get on tires is from Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack. Order from the internet and you will get free shipping. Then take your tires and wheels to a local tire shop like maybe Firestone and have them balanced and mounted.

Rear 325/30-19 Tires: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/f...size/325-30-19

Front 275/35-18 Tires: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/f...size/275-35-18

BTW ... Don't get a set of 'run flat' tires ... They cost more and they give a hard uncomfortable ride

I just mentioned that after you purchase the tires from Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct, take them to a local tire shop such as Firestone to get them mounted and balanced.

In my case, we unfortunately don't have a home-town Discount Tire store anywhere close to me (Cape Coral, FL) ... so that's why I take all my tire mounting jobs to Firestone.

BTW ... Discount Tire Direct is internet purchase ... Discount Tire are local brick and mortar tire stores located pretty much all over the country (but not where I live). . .

On my Base without Z fenders I'm running 265/35-18 & 315/30-19 with no issues
