I have an intermittent no crank issue on a 2009 all stock convertible (no headers). I want to make sure all my connections to the starter motor are tight. Can I get my hands & wrenches in there to snug things up or does the exhaust have to be dropped to get access the the starter connections. Before I jack up the car and crawl under there, I want to know what I will be up against. Thanks

Tightened the cable connections on a stock 2007 Base and access was easy with hand tools. Be careful tightening connections on the solenoid so you do not break the bakelite surrounding the terminals.
WOW --- What a difficult job replacing the Harmonic Balancer !! Thanks for videoing the entire process. The HB didn't look that bad to me. I think it was a long way from failing and I would have left it alone for now. Also, since you had everything apart why didn't you replace the crank sensor hiding behind the starter motor since you already had the starter motor out. Again, thanks for the video and hope the car worked fine after you put the car back together.

you can get in there, might take some creativity. the wires are HOT, disconnect battery
Got in there today and yea it was very tight. Everything seemed snug and maybe got a 1/16 turn more on each terminal. Next step is to replace the start/stop switch which I have already ordered and I will also take out the console to examine those rinky dink micro switches to see if they need any alignment. Not sure what they control but at least I should be able to see if they are being turned on/off with the movement of the shifter. I remember seeing one when I was in there last time --- but there my be two. A real mickey mouse set up as I recall.
It's most likely the starter, I just had to replace mine, intermittent no start.
Crankshaft position sensor must be relearned if replaced and I think it rarely has any issues, so, it should be fine.
Post 4 is one of the best videos I have seen for this HB repair.
Yep, clear photos for the OP starters question too, with the OP noting comment that it was very tight LOL.
