A little more is actually 3x more. But I understand OEM value.
With high torque applications like our corvettes, cheap mounts will fail prematurely and you might end up doing the job 3x times so it's up to you.
The motor mounts are fluid-filled so if they fail, you will see an oily residue around the rubber. If there is enough room for the engine to move around excessively, they will tear and leak the fluid out. You will also feel excessive vibration at idle in your interior.

Thanks. I understand your point regarding quality parts.
As I said originally, I have no indications of any kind that something is abnormal with my car's sound or operation. I only noticed the rusty colored dried streaks on the driver side mount when oil was changed a couple of months ago. I only change my oil once a year now as I only put 2K miles/year on it. So it may have been leaking for a year or a month, I have no idea.
I thought I would get pictures of it today to share while my tires were being replaced but the car was not put on a lift. I will have to get pictures to share.
oil can resemble leaking motor mount fluid. Actually oil can dissolve the motor mount materials and combine with it to even more closely resemble a leaking motor mount. I would wipe the offending liquid and wash the mounts and re-inspect at time interval to confirm diagnosis. Oil could be leaking down from somewhere or splashed there during a change or spill. Since you do not drive frequently it could be months or years before you notice the real source of the leak and you have plenty of time to repair.

Ok good points. I'm pretty sure I don't have any oil leaks. Have never had 1 drop on floor under car. Splashed oil from dropping oil filter in oil bucket is possible. I guess I need to jack it up and get under .... take a picture and clean it.
I assumed if mount springs a leak it will completely leak out. Is that true? How much fluid is actually in there?
SHOULD I BE ABLE TO SEE A TEAR OR SOMETHING ELSE TO CONFIRM MOUNT ACTUALLY LEAKED, MAYBE SQUEEZING IT FOR CONFIRMATION ????
