Well, I was working on trying to resolve my rear view mirror lights staying on by pulling the battery cables and touching them together for a few minutes. I put a towel between them and the battery so nothing would touch. all went well, it looked like the map lights were off after a while like they should be.

The previous owner had installed an onboard trickel charger and the plug to plug into an extension cord that dangled down was ground down to useless (the car is lowered). So I had installed a new plug. I decided to plug it in since the weather is icy and cold and I wouldn't drive the car for a few days. When I plugged in the charger to an extension cord, I thought I felt a jolt in my arm (not entirely sure, since it was 4 degrees F outside where I was working!), The backup camera stays on my aftermarket stereo, but the car will not start (no starter, no relay clicks nothing) The green push to start button only has the red LED lit, no green circle. No dash lights. The doors and trunk will not open except for the key and cable in the trunk. no head lights. Oddly enough, the interior lights all work, as well as the radio being stuck displaying the rear camera view.

I tested Battery Main 5 fuse in underhood position 7 with a test lamp, and it seems the fuses that need to work do work (standard bladed fuses). However, i see severl "J style" fuses for the battery main 1,2,3. I am not sure how to easily test these style of fuses, as I am thinking maybe one or more are bad.

I have had the battery unhooked from the car all night, praying that it all will work this morning when i hook up the car to the battery. If not, any ideas?

how to test j fuses, if you guys think that may be it?

Thank you... so aggravated with this beautiful car!

Well, luckily, hooking the battery back up after leaving it unplugged all night worked!

Make sure you connected the + and - wires on your new charger plug correctly. If they are connected wrong, you may have this experience all over again when you plug the charger in.
