Default Tire fitment on a base

Hey guys I have a friend who is ready to buy some tires for his 08 base and I wanted to try and get him a definitive answer before he pulls the trigger. He is going with Nitto NT555 G2’s and is wanting to go with a 245/45/18 front and 295/35/19 rear. Anyone know for sure these would clean fine? Thanks

A 255/40 18 would work just fine with the 295/35 19's. I ran those sizes. No issues. The front tire you suggested would be too tall for the 295 19's.

Thats the size he originally was trying to find but said he could not find a 255/40/18 anywhere.
If he ran a 305/35/19 on the rear what size should he get for the front?

I just switched over from Michelin PS4's in 295/35 19 to Nitto NT555RII's in 305/35 19's on the rear. I have a set of 265/40 18's to replace the 255/40 18's on there now in the front. Just haven't had the time to mount them yet. I think the 265's are a better match for the 305's. Haven't run them yet so can't comment on fitment.

I can say that going from the Michelin PS4's in the rear to the Nitto NT555RII's is night and day different in the straight-line traction department. The Michelin's had no chance in any part of first gear and no chance at the top of second gear either. The Nitto's hook all of first gear on most types of pavements. I haven't had them get loose in second gear and up on any type of pavement. That's with 500 rwhp.

OP mentioned NT555 "G" 2, which quite frankly were horrible in a straight line on my gen6 Camaro. Hope his buddy is looking at "R" ll's versus "G" 2's.

I hope he is too because his car makes about 500 rwhp but I’m pretty sure he said the G2’s.
He ended up going with a 275/40/18 and 305/35/19

Is he on stock rims? Please let me know if his tires on the front rub or not. If 275 40's don't have fitment issues, my 265's damn sure won't. He also needs to beware of possible AH and TC issues with the sizes he's running.

Yep he’s on stock wheels. He just ordered them but should be getting them and putting them on very soon so I can let you know as soon as I find out. He’s aware of the potential TC and AH issues, hopefully it won’t be a problem.
