Hi everyone, I´m from Sweden and need HELP!!
, I don´t know what to do? I have asked before and got a lot of information and nothing works....What are my problems. I get "Engine reduce power" rather often and engine just stops. I have buyed to New Battery, New Alternator, New sparkplugs, New Ignition Coils, Check all Electrical conections. New Throttle pedal. Buyed an TECH II. Today My Vette, got"Engine reduce power" again, I Enclose some pic from
TECH II. Give me some advice how I shall go further!
ECBM, and BCM.
Disconnect the battery,
Pull the connectors on the two, including the red center connector with 8mm bolt on the BCM, and use spray electrical contact cleaner on the both the connect and socket pins.
With lost communication between the two, most likely corrosion problems at the connectors causing the problems.
I’ve seen you posted this same issue from last year so guessing you haven’t fixed it yet…majority of REP is throttle body related but I would find a shop that uses a labscope if you want to fix this…they should be looking at APP, TPS, and Throttle Body Motor while the engine is driving and the car goes into REP mode…checking wiring and their connections would be helpful.
I went out to my car and take an Pic. Am I right. I put in an white arrow in the pic. Is that I take away the screw and lift the contack up and Spray Electrical cleaner om both side.
REP went away for me when I replaced my throttle body.. most common cause is when throttle position sensor and accelerator position sensor do not report the same data

Yes on the red connector, but make sure batttery is disconnect before you remove it to clean, and do the blue connectors as well.
Last year I get only one REP and under wintertime Jan Feb I worked hard with my Vette. I have fixed the steering column and a new gas pedal I have cleaning all connectors, a new Battery and a new 170A Alternator. I have fixed the ground connections, maybe I missed some! I thought I had fixed this problems,ut not! 2 times May Month I have had REP. I shall order a new Throttle Body today and cleanThe Connectors as Dano 523 tell me!
Then I hope My Vette works fine!
I SHALL FIX IT, I love my Vette!
You are so right, I started with all the contacts to clean and spray contact spray as well as clean all the grounds to the chassis, hope I found them all! The generator became a must, it stopped charging. But many said that the TPS gas pedal is often the cause, and maybe it is the one that started even more ERP. Then it is probably Throttle body left to change!!!! Nice that you care
Thank you
Goran
with your techII clone there is a monitor for wheel speed sensors. Validate that all sensors are reporting speed. I had to change a wheel hub to fix my REP. If i remember correctly you have to drive at least 15mph while data collecting.
Assuming you have also added another ground connection or inspected engine ground strap and starter connections. Could also be connections on the ECM
