Default Why Does This Happen?

This happens off & on. I start her up, back up or go forward, and when I put in the clutch (With no braking) the car stops AS IF I’D APPLIED THE BRAKES. This is at very slow, parking lot speed. Is this a “Hill Stop” gone awry, or???

TIA

You may have a dragging brake or parking brake. Jack up the car and try spinning the wheels by hand.

thats a good answer, parking brake failure. I never had a Corvette with hill hold, if that exists.

Only happens occasionally. Then, I’ll pick up speed, then pull
over to a full stop and move forward lightly, like in the parking lot. Take my foot off the throttle, clutch in and she rolls smoothly. I’ve never heard of a Hill hold on a Corvette either. That being said, this is my first Vette out of many that was not from the 60s. Who knows what lurks in this baby!? 2010 GS Drop Top w/6,600 mi. Saaaaaaaweeet !

Sounds like a caliper hanging. Possibly from a bad hose. Regardless of mileage, over time the hose can breakdown internally and act as a one way valve of sorts. Allowing fluid to the caliper and trapping it there. Then, as speed/force increases it releases.
If this is the case it will get worse over time until the caliper completely locks up. It will still release over time, but would require a great deal of power to move the car.
Also, if this is the case it is likely to only be one caliper hanging up. So, one wheel/brake should be hotter than the others.
Just my .02

When was the last time the rear discs where pulled, to clean the pad dust from the e Brake drums, and make sure E show was still in good shape, and it adjusted correctly.
Note, C6 does not have self adjusting E brake system like other cars, and if you find lip on drums, that lip needs to be removed via then turned, so you can adjust the E brake correctly in the end.

As for testing to see if rear E brakes are adjusted correctly, count the number of clicks up on the E brake lever for all the way down, and if you have more than about 12 click up, with trying to get the 13 about to dislocate your shoulder, then adjusted withing spec. Hence range your looking for is about 9 to 12 clicks up if shoes are adjusted correctly.

Or as stated could be float pins not greased correctly to allow caliper to self center slide (pin 5 to bracket channel on 8, so one can slide on 1 as needed), or one of the pistons is binding in the caliper isntead.
Guessing JL9 brakes,
