Default Battery replacement

Looking for an AGM battery for my Dad's C6. I still have a 4 year old NAPA AGM in my '03 but unfortunately that model/part number has been discontinued. What are you guys using? Not a big selection of group 90s out there for the '07 and is an AGM a necessity in the C6 like it is in the C5?

Maybe look at Odyssey batteries. I have a Z06 and mines is in the trunk but that's what I'm going to run.

Just put one of these in my car - a bit pricey, but all of the reviews are really positive for Odyssey batteries - ODP-AGM96R - ODYSSEY Battery

Walmart’s EverStart Platinum AGM is exceptional. Save the receipt for warranty for any issues.

What "Group Size" Wamart Everstart Platinum AGM did you get ??? I looked on Walmart.com and it did not come up with a compatible Everstart Platinum AGM battery. Is a Group 35 size OK for the Vette ?

You don't need an AGM battery for a C6.
I hate Walmart. Buy a Walmart battery and be done with it.

I just put an FVP AGM battery that I purchased from Rock Auto in my 2011 Grand Sport. RockAuto shows it fits a 2007 also. So far it has been excellent. FVP P47AGM

I had considered an Odyssee AGM battery but it was twice the cost which is just plain dumb.

And while you don't "need" and AGM battery, I will always use an AGM battery if I have the option. The acid is absorbed in a gel and so there is no liquid that can spill out. And on C6's with the battery located in the engine bay, there are critical wiring harnesses right below the battery that the acid has the potential to leak onto.

If you have ever had to clean up battery acid from a cracked or exploded battery (ask me how I know), you will go with an AGM battery always.

A friend at work has an Optima Red group 35 in his '07 Vert and sent me the above link. Also found a Napa AGM group 35. I'll run it by my Pop and come to a consensus. Probably do this project next week. Thanks for all of the feedback!

Don't buy Optima. Their reliability went to crap when Johnson Controls (I worked for their Automotive Systems Group at the time) moved production to Mexico in the late 80s.

Battery replacement complete. Unfortunately the NAPA 35 dimensions are now different (taller) than what is listed on their website. . Went with the Optima due to availability (O'Reillys) and convenience. Keep in mind I traveled 1500 miles to accomplish this task and time is of the essence. Installation was straightforward. Fingers crossed it performs as good as it looks.

You won't regret the RedTop. I have one in my 2010 LS3. Keep receipt just in case you need to replace it under a couple years, for warranty etc. Our C6s have a lot of electronics that put some drain on any battery.
