Those are all data communication codes U1000 tells you there is a problem with data communication, U1017 is communication with the ECM, U1040 tells you there is a problem with the EBCM check wires going to ABS unit and engine module. If you have a wiring diagram you could see the colors of the data line. Check grounds for those modules also.
CAN bus information goes from terminals 6 and 14 at the DLC in and then through and out of each module…if the EBCM connector is not fully seated you will not have comm to it and then downstream to the ECM.
What part of South Florida are you in ??…VERY few shops have the knowledge to diagnose communication issues.
im in west palm beach fl . Was on the phone with chuck from COW ( now south florida corvettes ) he was very helpful . Guy really knows his stuff .
I made a tiny amount of progress tonight , I am now getting the gauges to sweep and zero back . Still cant get the car to go into neutral . When I hit the ignition button and or attempt to start it , still nothing , but im still working on checking grounds at this point .

thank you !!! Definitely is a can bus ( ecm to bcm comms issue ) remote fob wont unlock my doors , but will recognize my name when slotting the fob into the glovebox. Guys at the shop put a lingenfelter box in it ( has a new 416 in it ) with a different reluctor wheel .
One of the grounds ( p side ) is on the number 8 header bolt . Chuck told me to look for stuff like this , Im assuming that ground should be on the back of the head not the header bolt , see photo .
You have to check more than just grounds to diagnose this…the only shop I know of in your area of is Assured Auto in Melbourne who can definitely diagnose it.

There is no ground that should be attached to the header bolt…see where it goes to…if a shop did the swap let THEM figure it out !!…if you disconnect the battery and check resistance between terminals 6 and 14 at the DLC it should read 60 ohms and not 120…there are 2 each 120 ohm terminating resistors in parallel one at the BCM and the other at the ECM.

im working on it , returning the car to the shop is not an option. That bolt has an eyelet that is too small for the bolt opening at the back of the head . I just tried it . I have to find out where the other end goes to .
There is no ground on the back of the block…G107 on the Drivers side is the ground for the coil packs and is the only ground that high up on the block.
This one is on the back side ( at least the eyelet ) is near the back of the p side head , wire looks to be around possibly 10 gauge , black and has a silver protectiv e sheath near the base where it goes into the loom
Its looking like g106 engine block ground , but its in the wrong spot . Probably causing the bad ground , will look at it again later . Sent you a dm . Thank you !!!
